Is this only for contractors?

No. Time, tasks, chat and docs are how any team runs, staff included. What makes Bothy different is that it also handles the contractors alongside them — rates, markup and payables — so you are not running an employee system and a contractor system side by side.

Do you run payroll for employees?

Accepted Answer

No, and not soon. Bothy tracks employee time and turns it into project cost and client billing, but it does not calculate or file payroll, and it does not move money. Keep paying staff through whatever you use now; nothing here replaces it.

Is it really unlimited people?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The price is for the bothy, not the headcount. A two-person business and a forty-person one pay the same $30, because charging per seat makes you think twice about adding the person you need.

Can people see each other’s rates?

No. Someone on the crew sees their own rate, their own hours and their own invoices. What you bill a client is visible only to owners.

What happens to my data if I leave?

Export everything — hours, invoices, boards, documents and chat history — as files you can read without us. No retention period, no export fee.

Does it connect to QuickBooks?

Accepted Answer

Not yet. Client invoices are built and ready to push, and the connection is the next thing being built. Until then it is a copy-paste, which is still less work than retyping four PDFs.

Do you move the money?

Accepted Answer

No. Bothy works out what is owed and to whom; you pay it through Wise or whatever you already use. Adding a payments licence would put the price up, and most people have that part solved.

What about contracts and e-signing?

In. The crew record already holds the rate and the engagement type, so the agreement sits in the same place: draft it from the template, sign, and send a link. The contractor signs from their phone and lands in the bothy with the rate on their record. No third-party seat fee.
